For the purpose of soldering SMD it suits fine, but the description states a 1 to 1200 times magnification which I can't see when actually using it. For instance looking at a 2,54mm header on maximum magnification shows that the magnification is about 50 times. This based on the distance between the pins being ~2mm which shows on the screen as ~10cm. So for this I took of 2 stars on the quality and 1 on the price. The metal stand is sturdy and gives a nice control on the distance of the lens to the object. Overall it is a reasonable device for the price paid.
